“You wouldn’t be anything? Look at Jack he’s doing so much better than you. You are going underground. You would never pass Mathematics. You worry so much. You are like telly monster.”I peel with laughter at the “telly monster’ when I reflect on the comment as an adult. If I had listened to these voices from former teachers, classmates and others in the community when I was just a playful little girl I wonder what my story would have been? We all have a purpose. Our story is unique. No one knows us better than we know ourselves. Do not let anyone fool you or tell you otherwise. I look at the so called popular, hip faces from the past thanks to social media and I actually genuinely feel sorry how things have turned out or how their struggle was just the same as everybody else. You see we never really know. Therefore our duty is to be kind and always offer compassion. We all have a calling and we should use our unique talent to serve God and our community. We do not have to achieve great things. In fact the most beautiful things are simple. I am grateful for each person that I’ve met on my life’s journey it enabled me to grow, reflect and learn. Love you and appreciate yourself first and then you can give to everyone else!
