Motherhood a blessing that facilitates growth

Sometimes it can seem like a battle; a constant struggle to completely sacrifice for another being/s. However a mother’s nature is to nurture and give selflessly. I had heard from wise and experienced mothers before I had children, ” you would only know when you’re a mother.” I can’t begin to tell you how much I disliked that expression. However now I truly understand the enormity of that expression. Forever your life is changed and certainly it’s a blessing but it’s truly more than that.

Parenting gives you the opportunity to strip every level of the lessons you needed to learn but was lying buried. You see your true self and the sheer reality of it makes you shudder. You must deal with your issues “head on’ because you want to be the best you can be for your baby or children.

The great thing is that you get innumerable chances and the onus is on you to use it as teaching moment. These issues truly humble you and it’s tempting to make excuses and brush it by. I have found that it’s worth continuously trying and realizing that everybody is growing. It may not be ideal but it’s your individual journey.

I’ve also painfully learned not to accept other people’s experiences as my own. It took me a while to get to that point. Each child is unique and love your child unconditionally. Let nothing unfaze you, you and your child are growing. Enjoy the journey though it can get bumpy or wild at times.
